Kathleen Ivaluarjuk Merritt (right) was  raised in the Kivalliq community of Rankin Inlet, and Charlotte Anguggaattiaq Qamaniq (left) is from the Baffin Island community of Igloolik. Both grew up in the vast and beautiful territory of Nunavut. They met in Ottawa in 2008, where they attended the Nunavut Sivuniksavut (NS) college program together. They have since become very close friends, with a shared passion for Inuit throat-singing and culture.

Charlotte and Kathleen perform an original and breathtaking performance that is often described as mesmerizing and intimate. The two join to communicate a fresh and vibrant new perspective of traditional Inuit throat-singing.

Charlotte started her performing career with Tumivut: A musical project marrying traditional Inuit throat singing with multiple contemporary styles of music, with Cynthia Pitsiulak back in 2007. Kathleen began performing later, with Nancy Mike as Kulavak: Nunavut's new modern mix throat-singing duo in 2009. Charlotte and Kathleen continue to perform with other partners, but never pass up an opportunity to sing together either on stage, or simply, walking down the street together.
